How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Well, yesterday was 2 for 3.
Austra took the day off.
will see what today brings.
regarding soft eggs, i have had a few thin shelled ones, but never a soft one.
Keeps 4 fingers crossed.....
I should add, I get more than enough eggs.
nice to be able to give eggs to good neighbors...

We got 5 eggs today, but what was fun is seeing six chicks peek from under my broody. Soooo cute!

2/3 today - can't wait until Wednesday, when we pick up four chicks to slip under Rusty, our broody! I hope she accepts them as her own (especially as she's only sitting on one egg - hope she thinks quadruplets are possible for chickens!!!)

For the past month i have been getting 70 to 80 eggs a day from a 108 chickens i think i have to many chickens.

The girls had plenty of fun today scratching around in the barn yard field and the one to the north of the barn. They don't go far from the building unless we are around, then they will go where we are. I guess we are the "roosters" that make them feel safe.

11 eggs yesterday and 13 today! I think we may have stressed the older ones a little yesterday (only got 5/11) All RSL are now laying. We took down the divider fence and they are all doing well together. A little pecking order going on but that's expected, nothing radical.
Only small problem was last night the new girls didn't go into the coop at night so we had to round them up and put them in on the roosts. Maybe tonite will be better

5 outta 9 .Just figured out why I've been getting less eggs It's getting warmer so I don't have the light on for heat. DUH!! Ive only been getting 3-4 a day
