why? Mine go back to the coop to lay, I don't have to keep them locked up until they lay.10/30 looks like I won't be free ranging until later in the afternoon.
The first day, we got two eggs and then one egg a day for the last two days. No eggs today. Our girls are just starting to lay and since we are new at this chicken farming it makes us think that they are just getting started. We think there is only 1 or 2 hens laying at the moment. Could we be right and the egg production will ramp up as the girls get older?
We have four Moyers that are about 17 weeks old. The other girls are Golden Comets that are about 16 weeks old.
