Got 5 today but got 7 the other day. Some of my pullets are starting to lay. Anyone know how long after a pullet starts laying that the eggs are good enough to incubate? I don't think I am going to put anymore on this year but I'd like to know anyways. Thanks.
none...grrrrrr Oh I mean "angry cluck angry cluck". My girls started molting a good three weeks ago and out of 7 I only get maybe 5 a day anyway. So until last week I was impressed with the two leghorns cause they had continued to lay and didn't really look too bad through the molt. Well- I jinxed myself.. last two days- none. First year with them (but second for them)and hoping the molt happens faster than lightning. Glad for the two 8 week cochin chicks- wondering if they will pass on any fall/winter laying since the big girls are. Will be mid winter anyway till they hit even close to laying age.
