How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Today I got 3 eggs from 5 hens, two of them are still holding out on me...

Still 3/11 but my hens coming out of brooding have been hopping briefly into the nesting boxes again so I'm hoping they'll start to lay again soon.

I'm going to have to buy eggs again this month.

Extra light. Not coming off a hard molt....
27 weeks today

Will be above normal temps the rest of the week...tapping foot.

My theory is its like the watched pot. The more anxious I am for eggs the fewer they lay.

2 out of 4 yesterday but only 1 made it into the house. Son squeezed an egg a little too tight.

A whole bunch!!! 27 in this coop--3 separated, of which I know only one Welsummer is laying.


Mystery of the light cream colored egg is somewhere in this list:
--6 Golden Comets (big, nice dark brown eggs)
--2 Red Star (guessing they'll be the same...)
--1 Barred Rock (?)
--4 White Leghorn (white)
--1 Brown Leghorn (white)
--2 Olive Eggers (hopefully olive eggs?!?)
--2 Black Copper Marans (hopefully really dark?!?)
--4 Pioneer/Dixie Rainbows (think they're laying--dark brown, big eggs)
--2 Lavender Orpingtons (?)
--1 Buff Orpington
--2 Welsummer (already laying--super dark, speckled)

I have a white Plymouth Rock that lays eggs that color. My Golden Comets lay in varying shades of brown- light to dark.

Yesterday was my first 3 out of 5 day. My girls are all coming up on 7 months old. Miss Delaware started laying in November, the 2 Black Australorps came on late November early December and my EE gal just came online I the past week. However, I did catch my Papillon ***** guarding the prettiest mint blue egg the other day, and yesterday she visited the coop a couple times. I'm thinking I have a dog who likes eggs. Will be fencing everyone apart soon.

4 eggs out of 5 hens today. I just noticed that my word for female dog was starred out. That made me go, "huh?" for a second. Anyhow, the EE has laid 2 days in a row, and the Delaware is a production machine. So, since 1/7, I've received 16 gorgeous eggs from my 5 girls.
