4/4 again yesterday.

Thanks, everyone! Thunder is a Croad Langshan, she's responsible for the purple. She's beautiful. Here's a picture of her sister that was taken by the lady that I bought Thunder from. That's a jersey giant behind her.

One egg from a hen that decided to sit on it after it froze.

The light turns on early AM in our laying coop. This is the first time I've found an egg before 7 am. Ugh...now I get to wake up even earlier!

Yesterday I got 4 from five hens but usually I get five.

10/12 yesterday, in the middle of our blizzard! The ladies didn't stray too far from the coop as it was accumulating in the covered run, blowing in with the NE wind.

her name is greysyn. even before the egg was ever layed.

I got an even dozen from an even dozen yesterday. they are laying pretty well for the cold, and I don't give light to extend their day. 8 heritage RIRs, 3 cuckoo marans, 1 EE.
all are about 10 months old. it is hard to stop a hen from laying in her first year once they have gotten into it.
