How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Scout is an Easter Egger/Enigma. <sigh> When he was a baby I thought sure he was a roo - even started saying "he" from day one. It wasn't until a few weeks ago I'd finally let myself say "she" because she looked like a she.....rounded neck feathers, black and white coloring with barely a touch of the yellow - just girly looking. This was Scout a couple of weeks ago.
.

Scout seems to love short-notice changes. Just like with his feet - left town and they looked amazing, came home 5 days later and they were curled and deformed. This chicken is a challenge - he was always getting into some kind of mischief. Oh, well. Ken said from the time he got hurt that if it turned out he was a roo it didn't matter - his place here was secure. I'm afraid, though, that if you take into account what a coward he is, combined with his misshapen feet, he's not going to do the girls much good. Too cowardly to protect them, too self-centered to "provide" for them, and feet too bad to successfully breed them.
I thought he was an EE, I had a bunch of EE cockerells that were suppose to be pullets and he looks a lot like one of them. EE's are so hard to sex. Here is one of mine that looks like Scout. Hahahahaha...Scout going to one of those men who are big babies, You will have to call him "Prince Scout of Wind River"! We all know that type! LOL....He is precious!

Scout's twin, and he was positively a cockerel, this one is 3.5 months old, see the yellow/rust in the wing?

The thread I posted for help figuring out what they were:

Sad that some ppl want them but fail to tend them properly... I'm ashamed at the condition mine are currently in coop wise. We had framework for an 8'x4, coop but it got crushed by a tree during a storm (thankfully before they went into it) and we could only salvage wood for a 4.5'x4'x3'tall coop but we've opened half the yard for ranging... This weekend (weather permitting) we start on the second coop and are installing a 6' tall privacy fence with hardware cloth skirting to keep the critters out...

Cross your fingers... I will be posting pics in the 'post coop pictures' forum as we build it... DIY is so much fun lol...

Btw... Anyone want an evil rooster? He's attacked my 4 year old son this time. My husband says he's just protecting the ladies but IM the one who deals with getting hit every day. My kids can't even come help me feed or gather because of this evil beast... Anyway... My luck, we get rid of him, buy a replacement and that one will be evil as well...

Oh honey, do not even think about comparing yourself to this lady, you are a good chicken owner. This lady had no intention in providing a coop. She was going to let them "free range" "be natural" "roost in trees" not feed them, because they were free range and could fend for themselves" LOL........I ran away!!!! This is not you. I would sell you a hen in a mega second!

Oh my word! He does look like Scout! Scout will be 4 months old on Saturday. No, no birthday cake - he'd just manage to find a way to burn himself on the candles or choke on the frosting. <sigh>

8/10 today. Gonna be hard to type that without adding the +Scout.

Thanks :hugs

I grew up with my dads parents (Nana and Papa) owning a working horse far... Once I had a place of my own I made the choice to raise my kids with the same love for home grow things... We are prepping our ground in the next few weeks for our veggie garden and my daughter (7) has asked to plant a row for herself...

:love. She said she wants to grow a 'bean soup' mix like in a book she read lol... I'll let her do it and she will have her home grown soup...
