2/12 today! A second one decided to lay their first egg too. 10 more to start laying now!

At this point I'm so confused I don't know which end is up! Went on a cruise last week, and naturally while someone else was taking care of the chickens many of the Littles decided to kick egg laying into high gear.

I knew that I had 9 layers. Back then the count was usually 8/9 + 11 Littles + 8 Tinys + Scout. Ah, remember all of the +Scouts I used to get to report? Miss that dude - but I digress.

Now I don't know how to do the count. Pretty sure I can leave the Tinys out of the equation. It would be a rare Buff Brahma that lays at 16 weeks. That leaves the Littles and the Bigs. Out of the 9 Bigs, Daphne the EE has been on strike for months now. I'll get one egg every few weeks from her. She's heading to the freezer. If she won't feed us one way, she'll end up feeding us the other. But as of yet there ware still 9 Bigs. Out of the 4 EE Littles, two of them are giving me little pullet eggs. Don't know which ones, but boy, are those eggs small! And out of the 3 Red Sex Link Littles, I think 2 of them are laying. Finding a couple of little brown eggs a day. The remaining Littles are Light Brahamas and 21 weeks is still way too early for them, too.

So I think yesterday's count would be something like:
12/16 + 4 Littles + 8 Tinys. Does that look right? Life was easier when I knew who was doing what out there. Now I'm outnumbered!!

My 6 girls started laying 3 weeks ago. Last week I was getting 5 a day. Now, the last few days, in only getting 3 or 4. Is this normal for new layers? It really bums me out!!
