we have 5 buff orphangiton 4 barred rock and 3 black sex links. They all are 6 months old

14 out of 18 hens. A record for us. We typically get between 8 and 12. They have been laying for roughly 6 weeks. I can't get them to lay in the boxes though. They lay everywhere else.

Keep them locked in the area where the nest boxes are for several days, with golf balls or other dummies in the nests to "demonstrate". Allow them to free range again only after they get the idea and follow instructions.

,,, but I did find several egg's broken outside so I can only believe the crows are betting me to the egg's so they can feed their young ....



Temp 102 F degrees today with clear sky's ...... this is a very nice and cool summer ....
