Here are the 3 that hatched. They are all doing real well.

What breed is the little chipmunk striped chick? The head spots make it look kinda like a Sicilian Buttercup chick

7/15 eggs from the big girls today and no egg from the little girls but I can't expect them to lay their first three days in a row.

7 chicken eggs today

6 eggs from the control group

1 egg from the free range chickens

It seems that most of the hens stay out of the coop when the ground is wet and rather stand in the rain then go inside to stay dry

Temp 84 F degrees with a light rain in the morning then overcast skys and light breeze most of the day

One more EE chick hatched today taking most of the day to get out of the shell

3 so far, and they were chilled already since I didn't get to collect first thing this morning (had an appt, someone else let chickens out for me thank goodness). I expect 1 more, unless my cochins decide to get their butt in gear and start laying.
