How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

4 today. Hoping my others start laying soon. I have a couple younger ones who are showing a little bit of interest in the nesting boxes, my 2 cochins, forget it, they are boogers!

If your Cochins are LF they will lay later since they grow slower being a large breed. I have two myself I keep looking for the combs to darken.

9 eggs today, but it's been a very stressful day for me. The dog impaled herself on the fence last night. It looked like a simple but deep puncture wound. The vet said it was very "messy" inside. surgery area much, much larger than I anticipated.

Then when I went to put up the chickens and collect the eggs, I found "Texas" my Ameraucana rooster on the floor of his coop with his head down. When I picked him up his neck was very floppy. I took him inside & felt around on his entire body & couldn't find anything wrong with him except for the pink patch on his head sort of near his muffs. At first I thought it was an injury but now it looks like a swelling or something. His neck is floppy and his head is upside down. I'm going to look check out wry neck systems. But he was fine this morning when I let him out.

Quote: I don't know what LF is. They are cuckoo cochins. Their combs have been going back and forth between pink and red, but recently Midnight's has been red every time I look at it. They are 6mos 1wk. I do know that I asked already, and general consensus is that they all lay later. I'm not concerned, just hope they get their rear in gear soon.

LF is shortened Large Fowl.
