I picked up 5 eggs for 5 hens this morning. Later I found 2 more eggs. I think I had some "late day" eggs from yesterday, but still, the "for sale" box is getting filled up!
I notice that my girls lay less eggs when they are let out into the run. Or at least it seems that way. They also seem to eat a lot more feed when the are left in the coop all day. Does that make sense that they would lay more eggs when left in the coop?
My 5 marans hens lay 3 - 4 each day. I have a divided coop and the marans are seperate. Oh I have a light on in the coop all day too.
19 today.18 from my comets and one of my gold laced wyandottes decided to lay an egg today, haven't laid an egg all summer and now decided to go for it,,I am sure it was the wyandottes because their in a run by themselves,,
