8/18 & 4/4 Tuesday and 5/15 & 1/4 weds.5 eggs in the incubator looking good for hatching many others I can't see past spots on the shells.

That is beautiful! We got 8/9 today, but one of the girls dropped a soft shell from the roost last night.

6/8 both silkies are laying again! Maybe 8/8 day tomorrow? *fingers crossed*

Ended up with 10/13. One chicken was dead in the run this morning when I went to collect eggs.

Just got my first egg yesterday. I started raising chickens a year ago, got lucky, and all four chicks I bought were hens, fast forward 5 fantastic months filled with joy. Something ripped open my coop and killed all four with nothing left behind but feathers, lots and lots of feathers. A long while later after a lot of mourning I got some partridge bantam coaching. (Sweetest birds I've ever laid eyes on) bought seven, three died of coccidosis (however you spell that), fast forward 6 months, I am proud owner of two hens and two roos, William, Robert, Sky, and Cleo. And sky gave me my first egg!

Temp 65F degrees with 10 MPH winds all day so with sand in the air there was not much to do out side

I am trying out this new bedding as the wood chips leave dust everywhere so I will give this stuff for awhile

Here are some of the chicks I hatched in March

So far one lady purchased three Molten Houdan chicks

And a family purchased seven chicks total with three Russian Orloff's and four Easter Egger chicks

And seven were given to a grandson that made him so happy and they hatched the first days of March

Every little bit helps when purchasing feed for the animals
