That was fun. My older 2 boys just got to watch one of the chickens lay an egg. Its actually only the second time I've really got to see one of the girls lay. It's just kind of neat to watch.

very cool! We had golden comet drop an egg this morning and I heard it pop and hit the straw, very cool. Kids keep trying to get their hot eggs lol.

4/9. Big day for us today. Our Welsummer and Easter Egger both laid their first eggs today. I also suspect our BlueWyandotte but that's not confirmed

3 today no egg laid on the coop floor at least. I'm starting to get confused as to who is laying which egg. Do most girls consistently have the same textured eggs? Like matte vs glossy?

What are fall like temperatures Missouri ?

Our temps just dropped to 48*F last night, what a change from 90*s prior.
18 Eggs yesterday.

60's & mid to low 70's during the day, 40's, 50's, low 60's at night. But today it did not stay that cool.

6 total count with 2 newbies 1 confirmed black austrolorp & other unconfirmed as it was on the floor and cold (I was thinking it was a fake egg and tossed into nest box, ended up filled with cracks-ugh)
BA is very light and of course weighing peewee as a 1st egg but I'm thrilled
