How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Yesterday's count 0/10 and today's count 1/10. Dont know what's going on with my girls. I used to get between 4-6 a day and now hardly any at all. I've been noticing the last few nights round 12-2am in the mornings three chooks stay outside the coop. Maybe it's just the change of seasons idk. It's only just started spring here in Aus. Does anyone have any suggestions?

@karenerwin
I think my girls feel they are being starved
built 3 of the pipe style 9 bags of crumble  a month was a bit of wake up
so they are not able to tip them or crap in them so
I will build 3 more
THIS is what I need in the coop! It would help so much. I show husband before he left and he liked the idea as well. Thank you.

Quote: I love them I used 3 inch black pipe 10 ft long plumbing dept home depot
makes 3 depending how tall the birds are.. to do 3 cut 33 inches at least
you also need 3 - 3 way T's 6 caps 3 elbows 60 street L
like banty breeds you could make 4 but then up all parts
once you divided your 10 ft section measure how high you want the opening
mine where all 10 inches with br, ee.. so cut 10 from each that is the bottom
now where you place the 3 way is on top of the bottom piece

black plastic this is with a elbow but my bf took a piece of plastic placing at the bottom of the t so food could not go below that line we filled that with gravel for weight - the taller piece went on top to hold the food

Forgot you were in Australia.

The girls staying out side the coop? Are they ground roosting? Or do you have roosting bars in the run? If they are ground roosting you might have a coop invader.

If it's spring they aren't molting, they will likely molt fall or winter.
A sudden heat wave might cause some to stop laying but not all of them.

Are there any signs of illness? Strange poops or pale combs? Lice or feather mites can cause anemia which would result in a drop in production, as with internal parasitestorage.

I was starting to question an eat eater. But honestly if you have some sleeping in the run rather then the coop you likely have an egg snatched of some sort. Something, rather snake rodent or larger pest, has found is way in the coop. Good thing is it hasn't gone got the chickens yet, but it must be close enough to steal eggs throughout the day. Or its stressing the girls enough that they have stopped laying because of the invader.

Only other thing besides tightening up the coop and run so nothing gets in and checking and treating for parasites. Would be checking for secondary nests. If there is a coop invader the girls are likely trying to find other safe places to lay. Even places that might seem to small for the chickens to get into might be places to check, i had one last year squeeze into a 3 inch space beside the fridge and then into an even small space to hide under the back side of the fridge.

That was fun. My older 2 boys just got to watch one of the chickens lay an egg. Its actually only the second time I've really got to see one of the girls lay. It's just kind of neat to watch.
