Just 1 egg today, and all the waterers were frozen.

Has things settled down a bit? my water line has thawed now
guess I am at 12 again maybe more blew it and most most in the bator
made a deal to buy a feather plucker from some folks here 80.00

3 eggs from 5 hens yesterday. It usually is 3 or 4 per day. I keep expecting them to slow down, especially last week where one night was 9 degrees below 0!

Things with the chickens are about the same. Leaving them locked up. some days all the waterers are frozen, others days not. Hubby told me today that he is making me some water heaters for Christmas.

Things with my parents are just as stressful and hectic. Both my brothers were in town over the weekend and we went looking at assisted living places. My Mom went with us, but my Dad stayed home with my sister in law. His health is actually the worst at the moment. I'm not sure if we have found them a place yet or not. Checking to see if some places have any openings at the moment. we were able to cross a couple places off the list and added a couple of others to call to see what they have to offer.
One of my brothers said he would stay until Thursday morning, so that I would have a break. I had been driving out to my parents every day immediately after work, then taking care of them, cooking, cleaning, running errands... then spending the night and getting up extra early in the morning to be able to get back to work ( teaching math to 6th graders) and then repeat the cycle.
Mom & Dad have agreed to having in home help 8 hours a day 5 days a week, so they are there when I am not. This past weekend my Dad told my sister in law that he thought they needed someone there on the weekends as well (I wasn't there since my brothers were). So now we are trying to add caregivers for 8 hours on Saturday & Sunday as well.

I only got one egg today out of my two hens, but one hen is broody and is sitting on 3 eggs...
