3/13 again. Hopefully in the next few weeks we get a few more layers.

I got 6/7 (one of them might have been a day old) eggs today from a total of 14 chickens that are old enough to lay eggs (15-18 weeks), but only 8 of them are actually laying right now.

not all birds do lay daily but take heart you will see more

Blondie was sick yesterday, she was like a zombie hanging out at the water pan and not eating. I suspect she ate another toad Monday night. For the 3rd time in a year. She wouldn't even leave the pen to free range last evening.
The good news is she's back to her normal self today, even free ranging in a light rain.

Eating toads one on me there had not hear of that

Yeah, the first time I've seen her eat a toad was in the pen last year. I was giving them a treat and fresh water in their pen, when Blondie ran after something. A small toad made the mistake of hopping into their pen. I ran towards her, to stop her from eating it, but she quickly gobbled it down.
The next day she was like a zombie, just hanging out at the water pan, and drinking all day and not eating.
I thought she was gonna die. The second day she was feeling a little better, eating a little. By the end of the day, she was back to normal.
Well this is the third time she has hung out at the water pan and not eating, in a zombie like state. She had yellow poo, dribbling out her vent all day.
If I didn't see her eat a toad the first time. I would have thought she had an illness.
I had to put her in the coop Tuesday night. Wednesday morning she was Ok, yea. GC
