Rhode Island Red and a White Leghorn. I have two of each so I’m waiting for the others to jump on board. My other breeds are SLW, EE, FBCM, BB bantams, and a couple others. To hear those will be later. They’re all 20 weeks.

Yes! Although one of my EE squatted for me today so maybe I’ll see something from her in the next week. I did get an egg this morning that I think is from a Barred Rock. The darker pink one is from today. The lighter beige one is from one of my RIR. Do you think it’s a different pullet or same just a shade different?

Little dark one is BR for sure, the lighter larger is probably RIR. I think the big dark one is a different hen. Congrats!

If you have an EE that starts laying at 21 weeks or so - congrats! Mine have started at about 23 weeks at the earliest.

THIRTEEN!! I think that may be an all time record in my 6 years of chicken keeping. Means only 4 didn't lay today.

Thank you for your input! I got a 2nd brown egg today so I now have 3 layers... there is a BR that looks REALLY red so it probably was her. My 2nd egg had some speckles on it. When I left, it was my other RIR that was in the nest box. I am wondering if the speckles were a fluke?

I love reading when Missy lays. I've been stalking this thread for a month or so.
