How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

@PouleChick how wonderful of home you have... Anytime we are able to save these structures ours started in 1930 as a three room house my room the master now was the kitchen that is all we know for certain

Boy is someone good at chicken math!
Oh Bruce you wouldn't believe it!
 And I bet you aren't just 3' tall.
Ha ha no - I'm a whole 5ft2" :lau:lau
Sink as in plumbing? I don't believe people had sinks of any sort back then, only portable basins. Maybe a retrofit into a medieval structure?
It is an old stone sink with a carved piece of stone that goes outside with just a hole to allow the water out, I presume they would have put a cork in it to use as a plug. We had one at our first French house too so they were definately used a lot here. I'm pretty sure not a retrofit but who knows what has happened over the last 3-500 years  I'll get a photo in the morning - far too hot today to go up the stairs and they are in full sun!
what a gorgeous place @PouleChick - lucky you!
Thank you!
so it could be even older than the barn!
The middle section definitely is - DH and DS1 are currenly filling in the window that looks out into the big barn - it would have been the original exterior wall. We think that the northern end where we live was probably built 2nd (maybe 1700's?) and was where they stored the wine vats then the big barn / little barn later - it has a 1832 date over it so the only one we are sure on.

It is amazing isnt' it wondering how things used to be! There are some lovely 30s houses in Australia, not sure if you guys have a similar style there?

The family that originally owned this live around us still and one neighbour tells that his grandmother used to have around 90 chickens (says I rapidly catching up :lau:lau) and what is our half renovated guest room / sewing room was where some of them slept! When we were first cleaning off the walls there was a definite odour too:p - we managed to get rid of it with lots of washing powder (kills enzymes!) washes.

@PouleChick amazing place, seems like a lot history hidden among those walls. Maybe some of your chickens can translate them for you :D:old
Someone needs to!

8 for 8 yesterday and today.
I think the big Dixie Rainbow hens are superior to my Barred Rock in many ways but I have gotten 5 eggs out of 5 Barred Rock hens every day since I first reported here.
What is that, 6 days? Nope, just checked. August 20th. 8 days
All they get from me is a handful of feed between them & a little mash before bed.
Barred Rock hens produce.

Plymouth Barred Rock are great layers I was ending up short eggs as I took the 7 I had to auction at 4 years they had collectively killed and EE... but bought 4 more almost point a lay like a month later needed the eggs :gig
