Today was the first day back at work for teachers. The kids start back on Monday. Several co-workers were very excited that I brought in eggs!

I have been receiving 2 eggs out of 10 hens. The chickens are 2 years of age though, (including the Red Sex Link that is laying everyday). The other is a mystery.

I scroll past this thread everyday, can't keep up with chatty threads...
....but felt compelled to post, because 12 eggs out of 16 layers yesterday!!

supplemental lighting since Nov (even the pullets were slacking) didn't do much,
but after solstice things are looking up!

Two today. Had a little surprise, my July born faverolle laid this morning. Iv'e been waiting patiently for her to grow and lay but she skipped the growing portion.
I'm proud to share my 41 gram, guess who's got a bantam? Egg.

I agree with the daylight slightly getting longer, it seems like my layers are starting to add more everyday even without supplement lighting. 17 Eggs Today
