How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

School has been canceled for tomorrow because we are supposed to have temps of 30 below 0 with the windchill! -4 without the windchill.

School has been cancelled here too, so all my three kids will be home with my wife since she works in school. I’m tempted to call off work to snuggle with my chicken LOL! and keep them warm.

5 from 9 pullets. Hoping for more today.

Last week we only got 3 one day- our lowest number of eggs. Of course, the next day we got 8, a couple eggs already waiting to be collected when we let them out!

We have 2 pullets age 4.5 months. No eggs yet <sigh>. Hoping soon, as one of them has comb and wattles getting nicely red. Also, one is supposed to lay blue eggs (Legbar), so am totally looking forward to getting some blue eggs!

Great days I stay around 16 a day which works I can take a few dozen to the food bank here they love them

That is so nice of you!

I sell them pretty cheap around town here but I go up north once a week and a feed store gives me 4.50 a dozen that helps with feed.

Most likely more than 3 are laying, it would be unusual for them to crank out one per day.

I've had it happen twice, once in the spring when my first lot of girls started laying and then last week when I got 3 marans in one day (from only 2 hens!)

5 yesterday and 6 today - really pleased - although I've got so many boxes now - hoping to sell more tomorrow at my stitch n bitch group (or fils et bla bla as we named it in French!).

4 today. I went out at 3 because the clouds came back and I figured the girls would be heading to roost soon. There was a hen in the nest box so I have to go back out. Problem is I've already attributed an egg from this morning to that girl. If there is another egg I'm going to be

Oh dear! One of the reasons I've not really every worked out whose is whose - my 3 original girls all lay very similar (actually I pretty much know that Mabel the sussex is different to the2 hybrids but they are all so similar I need to have them next to each other!).
