How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I’m afraid one of my roosters got the same thing from being in the run yesterday. It’s been subzeros here even the high haven’t reach single digits. I guess today will be high of 6*

It’s in the 20s here today but I got frozen eggs! Only 3 viable but that’s fine. Got 8 total.

Most if the time I get 4 or 5 so 6 when the weather is so bad is great. Watch I'll only get 3 tomorrow LOL

Well somehow they managed to hide a bunch of eggs in the run , so total we got 40 eggs today, almost half frozen & cracked so layed sometime during this very, very cold spell. Hope we have this issue resolved now. Oh well they ate well today LOL

17 Eggs Today,

I’d been coming home during lunch time to gather eggs and give water and scratch corn to our chickens this last couple of days. These frigid days costing me a lot of work making sure these buggers are safe and healthy. To the point of telling my boss at work I have family emergency so I can have 2 hour break, changing to work boots and work clothes and back to business attire LOL. They’d been burying their eggs to 7-8” of shavings and nesting materials to protect their eggs from freezing -really smart hens.
