How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

6 yesterday, Vienna (2018 Barred Rock) was sitting on 5 of them in the closed community box, the other was in one of the open boxes. Sure hope she isn't going broody, I don't think any of them were hers. But she was off the nest later when I closed up so maybe she's just a really smart chicken and knows that they will freeze if there is no hen sitting on them. She doesn't want me to miss out. Yeah, that's the story I'm going with ;)

1 :hitseriously now getting worried something isn't right iwth them - 2 weeks ago I was getting up to 6 or 7 :eek:The araucana has totally stopped laying - don't think I've had a blue egg for 2 weeks. She had stopped just after she started for the 'winter' but then started back up last month and laid for 2 weeks or so and stopped again :confused::confused:i've checked some of my hens for mites as was worried as saw some black spots on thier combs(onl closer inspection I think it is scabs - the roos have quite a lot but I noticed it the day after they were fighting and there was a bit of blood) but nothing on thier skin at all. I haven't seen any signs of egg eating (when there has been a breakage or something and they've eaten them you can always see some sort of evidence). We have had gorgeous sunny, warm, blue skyed days and the days are much longer - I'm not locking up until going on for 7pm. Ideas on a postcard please!

I can't send you ideas on a post card, I don't have your address ;)

I have several birds that do this. Start back up in January for a week or two then decide they are too early and wait another month or more.

6 today including the first of the year for Mint (Exchequer Leghorn). Looks like she needs to tweek the factory a bit.
