How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

The paler ones are kinda like this one. I've suspected it was one of my BR. I see your Easter Egger(s) is laying. Wish mine would!:barnie I really want a maran hopefully this spring. Are yours really dark? I don't see any dark in your carton.

Nope my darkest egg comes from a cuckoo marans have 3 but just 1 is laying so far they came from a breeder here but not awful dark you can see part it toward the lower bottom of the carton

Then it would be second up from bottom pecking order. Henneth, the 13 month old Easter Egger that hasn't laid since labor day, is low chook on the totem pole. Lol. Now if I could only figure out if its a Barred Rock, who should be laying brown eggs, or a Buff Orpington, who DOES lay brown eggs but, hey, somebody is laying pinkish eggs.:idunno

My Barred rocks and speckled Sussex always lay pink eggs in my flock.

Well that solves my mystery. I was under the impression BR laid darker eggs but since they are the youngest of the flock I knew the pinkish ones had to be from them! Thanks!

Speak for yourself LOL, I got one mint color yesterday and got a bluish one today. I’m tempted to hatch them but not sure what they will be since my roosters are Black Copper Marans.
I'm not absolutely sure but I think I read that a green or blue egg laying hen mated to a chocolate egg rooster, such as a BCM, would possibly produce an Olive Egger. I'm sure someone here can let me know if I'm on the right track. You might be on to something cool.

@Cryss your welcome.

My understanding too that an Olive Egger is the result of those two Combined. But from an EE + BCMS, I’m not sure since EEs are already mixture of multiple breeds and not even a recognized breed might result to a barnyard mix mass lol. I also own a couple of Olive Eggers and they do have nice color eggs (Khaki and darker greenish) but they’re temperamental egg layers, only gives me 2-3/week and often takes breaks.
