22/35 today the gals crept up a notch or two so the nicer weather deffinately makes somewhat of a difference, by the time spring gets here I hope to be gathering eggs in a five gallon pale, naw not really, a one gallon pale, sometimes we LA-yers can go a little overboard in our descriptions and story telling, oh well, it's all in good fun though.

5/7 One was one the poop board this morning - just the some yolk and white - no membrane or shell. That's the second time in a week. I hope nothing serious is wrong with one of them!

I'm a newbie. Hello. I have 6 barred rock bantams. They turned 4 months old on Feb.1st. On Feb. 1st we got our first eggs. 3. They have laid every day since. 3,1,2,3,4. And for the last four days they have laid 4,4 and 5 and 5 today Feb 16th. we keep track on a calendar. 50 eggs in 16 days. Very happy with this breed. Small, quiet, friendly and easy to keep. We live in a normal size neighborhood. 100 by 150 ft lots in the city limits. My neighbors on one side have no ideal we have chickens. We have a nice hen house and a privacy fence. they stay in more than out. I have lights and heat lamps on a timer system. It is still cold here in Alabama. It has been lower than normal temps here too. I let them out for the day anytime it get close to 40 or better.
