I got 17 eggs yesterday & 17 again today (plus the usual quail eggs)! I think most of the pullets are laying now!

I had bought my flock last summer, all but 8 were from the feed store & day old mail ordered, so they've been growing and just enjoying free range life. I was shocked that they all started laying before spring!

I am not a prophet nor the child of a prophet, but remember yesterday when I got 10 eggs, yay, and then said, Watch, I'll get two tomorrow? Sure enough it's tomorrow today and I got two!.

I'd be feeling quite prosperous if I had that many! Especially since I only have 6 chickens!

Hi! I live in southern NJ. It is winter but we have had mostly a mild winter. days in the 40s to 50s. I have just started getting some chicken eggs last week. I collected 4 eggs today and 5 eggs yesterday. I have 6 older girls. They are going to be 4yrs old. And I have 8 younger girls. They are almost 2 years old. I have seen a few of the younger girls and one of the older girls in the nest boxes. So far, all the ones I have witnessed in the boxes are Americana or easter egger mixes. (from a barnyard hatch)

I would love to hear from other chicken owners which breeds have been laying over the winter, or which ones are the earliest to start laying.
