How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

0 eggs out of 9 chickens for some reason my hens are not laying in the winter and it’s not that cold here because I’m in Florida. They appear healthy and act normal??? I have no clue why they are not laying could it be the change in daylight hours?

I think that has a lot to do with it. I’m just now getting back up to 5 or 6 out of 15. My girls posted zeros up for quite a while after molting and then rolling right into short days of fall and winter.

2 eggs today, but one was a fart egg from my Buckeye. It had a tiny yolk inside! I have four pullets and two have decided to have their nine month molt so they are off lay. Luckily my sweet big Brahma girl is laying a beautiful light brown egg with white speckles almost every day(the big egg shown is yesterday’s from the Buckeye tho)! The Buckeye has been pretty consistent through our mild winter so far also. I’ll take what I can get in January!

6 today . They teased me all day with that record breaking number 7 but no one committed. I worked on moving my brooder so it’s actually attached to the coop so I’ve been hanging with the birds all afternoon.
