How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I know it’s not time for this but I want to ask my fellow egg counters. I had to put little chicken saddles on a couple of my rooster’s favs. Does that need to come off when they molt this fall?

That is good idea to remove them as the birds could also use a break from a roo about then also. Molting takes everything the girls have to get through

11 today! I found 3 hidden behind the brooder, they’re probably from some time in the last day or two. At least two different hens were using the nest.

9 eggs from 10 hens today!

I brag when I can. This past winter I only got 1 or 2 eggs every day. Makes it hard to go outside and care for the hens when it is -35F and all you get is 1 egg to collect. But then, at those temps, I suppose my hens were saving all their energy just to survive the cold. Fortunately, they all survived the winter and are laying good eggs now.
