How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

5 today… and a weird one from my first time layer Safaia! Was going to collect the eggs and she was just coming out of the nest box! It was still warm. It’s shell-less.

8 today. I’ve been debating rotating out my oldest hens. They’re Australorps almost 2.5 years old. Should they be dropping off egg production? With the exception of the EEs, all the eggs are light to medium brown. There’s no way to tell for sure who laid what. I just assume the oldest will fall off first. My other girls just turned a year but they don’t carry the laying rep that Australorps carry. Brahma, SLW, Orpington, Dominique, EE. Thoughts???
How many eggs were you getting when they were all laying good? At 2 1/2 they should still be laying relatively decent. 🤔

Out of the total 15 layers, I was getting 12 to 14 a day for a while. The numbers started tapering off and I blamed it on broodies, then there was the snake. Those Australorps were real close to an egg a day but the other breeds kinda helped make up the rest of a dozen. Now I get 8 and 9 eggs pretty regular from the whole group. I’m not pulling the trigger yet but just wanted some feedback. I do sell eggs and chicks so non-producing chickens can drag me down but I’m not heartless either.
