I’ve only had one molt in the summer. She quit laying until the following spring. Hope that doesn’t happen to yours!

Our rainy season is winter which actually does affect egg production, but that’s mainly due to the shorter days and not so much the rain.

Out of the total 15 layers, I was getting 12 to 14 a day for a while. The numbers started tapering off and I blamed it on broodies, then there was the snake. Those Australorps were real close to an egg a day but the other breeds kinda helped make up the rest of a dozen. Now I get 8 and 9 eggs pretty regular from the whole group. I’m not pulling the trigger yet but just wanted some feedback. I do sell eggs and chicks so non-producing chickens can drag me down but I’m not heartless either.

I’m not literally pulling the trigger. The sad emoji got me good. At some point I’ll have to cull which means selling to my auction guy. I got 10 today. They’re all over the place right now so time will tell I suppose.

My chickens don't particularly like it when it rains, I suppose if it ever lasted longer than 15 minutes it could affect their egg laying

It just seems like you should be getting more. My girls usually lay pretty good up until at least 3, maybe 3 1/2.
But maybe it's misleading because I have a gazillion chickens
