I have 2 nest boxes, 2 open crates and one of those plastic ones you screw into the wall "little giant?". They use all boxes, specifically in pairs, except the plastic one is only used in emergencies lol. However, the Wyandottes hate when the reds are in their crate and they will NOT use any other. So they honk and honk and peck and if no avail, they give up. So recently I've been noticing they will lay eggs outside in the yard. I have found quite a few of their eggs frozen and have seen the girls eating others. I have no idea how to correct this.
