Nice when you get a surprise egg later in the day!

Yep, I keep thinking they are going to slow down but they keep on laying around 7-9 a day out of 9 layers. I have noticed a lot of lose feathers laying around and my jersey giant(Gena) is looking a little shaggy so I feel like the fall molt is coming soon.

I’m stockpiling now trying picking, and water glass. We have already eaten most of the jalapeño and habanero pickled eggs. I think I’ll do red beet eggs next.

I'm in the same situation. We get a dropped wing feather every day and the girls all have pink bottoms but only a slight drop in eggs so far. We do have an abundance of worms and woodlouse in the garden which is helping keep their protein up.
