How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

There were 7 nice, clean eggs in the box this morning. I spied a ripped-apart soft shell egg under the roost, but don't know if it was an old one that got scratched up out of the woodchips or one from last night. Oh well, 7 is good enough.

5 last night big girls. My black from last hatch of two one olive egg most days.
Banty are up to 2 again.

Only 3 yesterday, down from the 5 or 6 the girls have been laying (out of 8 pullets). Stalwart Martha the Whiting's True Blue again and 2 brown...one of those was very small, like a novice pullet egg. The Eggers both took the day off, no greenies. It's fine, my kitchen counter's covered in eggs, plenty for the holiday recipes and more to freeze/water-glass. Thank you, feathered ladies!

No molting here (too young), but I think the 4 hours of daylight are finally starting to get to them.

You only get 4 hrs of daylight? You must be in the North , winter sucks.

Only another month till the winter solstice, then the days get longer!
