We only had a couple weeks of snow nnfeeeze in England in the south where I live.. think my girls are thru it now n hopefully start to wsrm up from the -1c temps here soon.. Lovely dog in profile do U have a akita too like me? Mine loved the snowy period.. Not a bad looker for an owner too haha

anyways here's one my ISA browns that just let herself in n decided to stare my big American akita down like "yea? What U looking at wolfy?!?" N then my dogs just there staring back like, "ain't U supposed to be scared of me misses heny?!!! Leave my damn food n water alone!?!!"

Today I found 15 eggs, 3 were in their little hidey- hole they have, I was sure they would be frozen, but they look ok, no cracks so all good! The other 12 were in the nest boxes. My ladies who were moulting are coming back online, my fridge is full of eggs!

It’s -18c (-1F) and crystal clear outside. The inside of the barn is about -5c - I blanketed the two big mares, pony is a fat lard butt…

Yesterday was my first 14 egg day!

Today there is snow on the ground but its melting fast while I enjoy my morning coffee so they won't be as shocked as I hoped lololol

I was dying to see their reaction but there is still grass popping out now so I fear they won't be as wary and curious. No fun!

you know you're old and living the life when the most exciting thing in your day is seeing how your chickens react to their first snowfall.

I’m not sure who laid the little egg. I’m installing a camera this weekend so I could keep an eye on things. I believe it was my Rhode Island Red (first egg!!), but I’m not sure.
