3 out of 4 today. 4 out of 4 yesterday. They are doing very well, despite the shortening days.

We've been getting a constant 24 - 26 eggs every day from our 30 Gold Comets! And we've been getting a lot of extra large to jumbo eggs too. There have even been some double yolkers we've seen. I make a point of putting what I think is a double yolker in one of my customer's cartons when we get them. They think that it's so cool to crack one open and have 2 yolks. Sometimes I can't properly close the carton because they are too big. We see very few of the small to medium sized eggs these days too so I guess the Gals have settled down into a routine. We also seem to be out of the molt for our second 6 hens too. Everyone seems to be filling back in with nice feathers now, including Miss Pity who was just about down to down and a few tail feathers. We've renamed her Miss Purty.

16/22 Today I had more larger eggs than small pullet eggs! Had one this week that was 2.4 oz which is extra-large by USDA standards.

ETA: Had a late layer today.
