Not a one today. But I totally understand how stressed they had to be last night.![]()
We had a FIERCE rain storm, thunder, wind and lightening. Their house is on the south of the shed on the south side of my house. One the north of my house it sounded like a bomb blew off. House shook a bit. This afternoon I stepped into the wood edge.... only two trees in it LOOKED like a tree had been peeled on one side like a banana from the missing crown to the ground!!!! The top of the crown was laying on the top of the 1st tree at the edge of the woods and strips of bark up to 5' away were scattered on the ground and imbedded in other smaller trees!!!Strips as long as I am tall! My propane gas tank is halfway between that tree and my house! So glad it just imploded the side of the tree and not hit the tank or burned things!
Also that none of the strips/peels? hit the house!!! I've had straight line winds topple trees before but this was worse than a tree crash sound.![]()
I understand stress the evening before can cause a hen not to lay the next day... don't know if true or notbut I have noticed a correlation..... molting, introduction of the rooster, me making changes/working on coop that changed their access to it and chasing to coop early.
