How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

6/15 found a late egg when i put the girls to bed.

I ended up with 7/9 today, finding one egg outside the coop in the chicken yard in the favorite place for dust bathing. That's a first. Had two pretty blue eggs today and am so glad that my Ameraucana isn't egg bound! I had two pullet eggs with kind of soft shells. Can that be happening because of the heat? It was 100 today. My hens like to use their water dish as a wading pool..

Soft shells mean they need more calcium. You can feed them crushed up egg shells or oyster shell (sold at farm supply stores). I just put mine out in a bowl and the girls that need it eat it & the rest leave it alone. I refill the bowl when it is empty.

Hey everyone im somewhat new to chickens and i believe i should have five hens laying one we have had for a while and the other four just recently were bought from breeders. I had two four egg days and now iv had four 1-2 egg days in a row i was wondering if there is any reason they wouldnt be laying ? Is it possible a preditor has been scaring them ? We think something might have messed with one of them because there was a lot of white feathers but all the chickens looked fine ? Any suggestion about why they might not be laying is appreciated !

We think something might have messed with one of them because there was a lot of white feathers but all the chickens looked fine ? Any suggestion about why they might not be laying is appreciated !

Some days (recently) I got 5, then 6, then 5 and then today I got 7. My hens its there first time and they are getting used to laying so if they are younger or there first time that may be why, I know one of my hens popped out a really big egg (double yoker) and she took a break the next day haha.
