How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

2 eggs from 4 hens (I'm pretty sure only 2 have started laying but the other 2 could start any day now)!! Best part is that our mystery 2nd layer has been identified and it's my NH, Brownie. I am secretly glad that it's her and not my EE because I really want a blue or green egg!!

My two broody Cuckoo Marans hatched 9 new chicks Thursday and Friday (out of 12).
They are either BA, or mix of a BA roo and BA, BO, RIR, or CM hens. Most are black and yellow. A couple have some red on the face, a couple are almost all black.
So adorable. PEEP PEEP PEEP!

Oh yeah, 10 eggs from 13 layers (one BO still recovering from broodiness).

10 eggs today from 12 hens. I can hardly believe that it is 60 degrees this evening when it was 100 degrees just 2 days ago!

5 Chicken egg's today


It was only 107 today but a hard wind came in around 4 PM and cooled it down and we even got to trade trash with all the neighbors rather we wanted to or not

but it did cool don to the low 90's so that was good

We are supposed to see record lows this Tuesday and Wednesday.....lows 32 degrees. Chance of snow in the early morning hours but it'll probably be gone before we wake up unless it's still coming down - ground's too warm for it to stick. Brought in whatever plants I planned to overwinter already.

It's been raining here since about midnight, stopped for a short while a couple of times but areas are being flooded. And its in the 80s, better than the 100s but geez the rain is ridiculous. My backyard is turning into a lake. Had to replace the wood chips in the nest box with new ones because the rain soaked them... put the lid on the rubbermaid tote (nest box) this time so it doesn't get wet again but of course the girls are pooping all over it. Rain, rain go away my girls want out of the coop to play.

3 hens, no eggs for the past two days Either they're hiding it somewhere else, or they're really mad at me for taking them all the time! Hahaha Time for some early Easter egg hunting!!!
