How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

How quickly do they stop laying when the temp drops significantly. Down 20 degrees from past week. Still no eggs from my younger girls after all they are only 15 weeks old but will they even lay before winter? I was thinking late Sept early Oct.

I thought it's the longer nights, not the lower temperatures that causes hens to lay fewer eggs.
Which is it, or is it both?

I have 3 BRs and yesterday they were 22 weeks old. Found one on the nest with two eggs under her, not sure if she laid both or not.

My two broody Cuckoo Marans hatched 9 new chicks Thursday and Friday (out of 12).
They are either BA, or mix of a BA roo and BA, BO, RIR, or CM hens. Most are black and yellow. A couple have some red on the face, a couple are almost all black.
So adorable. PEEP PEEP PEEP!

Oh yeah, 10 eggs from 13 layers (one BO still recovering from broodiness).

We had a couple of old eggs that we boiled up as when dad cut ino them one was a double yoker!!!!!!!!
