1 out of 3 chickens laid an egg. I think it's from my girl Morrigan, the coloring is almost exactly the same as her first egg. She seems to be the consistent layer. The other two aren't quite sure they should be doing it daily LOL.

We've been getting six (from six hens) on most days, and got six today. We got five yesterday, with the one that didn't lay yesterday producing the first egg of the day.

in two days we got three and we have 4 hens! thats 2 days worth of eggs!

Thursday we got our first 3 egg day! And wouldn't you know Friday, Saturday And today we've only got 1 egg each day! What is up with my girls! I think they are messing with me. They think they can just take turns laying and that'll be good enough so long as i get 1 egg a day. :/

I thought it's the longer nights, not the lower temperatures that causes hens to lay fewer eggs.
Which is it, or is it both?

The light has to do with laying fewer eggs but I think the cold does have a part too. Last winter was brutal for us but my girls stayed laid! Not all and not everyday but a few a week. And I don't add in a light or heater. They deserve a break!
