How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

8/9 again. That axe really scared the eggs outta them!

none...grrrrrr   Oh I mean "angry cluck angry cluck".     My girls started molting a good three weeks ago and  out of 7 I only get maybe 5 a day anyway.  So until last week I was impressed with the two leghorns cause they had continued to lay and didn't really look too bad through the molt.  Well- I jinxed myself.. last two days- none.      First year with them (but second for them)and hoping the molt happens faster than lightning.    Glad for the two 8 week cochin chicks- wondering if they will pass on any fall/winter laying since the big girls are.  Will be mid winter anyway till they hit even close to laying age. 

Yeah, I was hoping for a fast molt too, but every day there's MORE feathers and less eggs. 0/6 today.
Poor girls. They look pitiful.

Went from 8/9 to 3/9....and it looks like Kat is thinking that that broody life looks pretty cushy. Please, no!!!

I got 6/6 today and I saw the early morning egg laid. It is Cookie! She sneaks in, lays and then waits til later to cheer the rest on w/ an eggsong. LOL

8 of 13 the girls are laying again after a 2 month molt

1 egg yesterday quite late in the afternoon. Todays might be in the evening or none at all. Contestant #2 played in the bottom right nest box for well over an hour creating a perfect round nest around the golf ball.

Yesterday got 6 eggs from my 8 hens. Today we got 4. Two of my pullets are more than 2 years old and have been slowing down.
