11/12 .......and the nesting curtains are working wonders! I have only had to clean off maybe 3 eggs in the last month and even those weren't too bad!

4 eggs today! added an Easter egger, an ameraucana, leg horn and a black australorp to the flock today I wonder if its gonna slow them down a little

-and that's been about par for a month or more. Every single chicken has gone through, or is going through, a molt! -first two winters they were excellent egg producers all through the winter (with no supplemental lighting). This year will be their third winter. -upcoming spring will be their fourth, and the gals are probably going to begin slowing down. -think we are moving from prolific producers to "pet phase" with our sweet flock.

The rir gives me 1 egg most days, but the Leghorns haven't laid for at least a week. They are all less than 2 yes old. what is going on?

Are you sure that they are not molting?
