How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I have 4 hens (Golden Buffs), received them as day old chicks on 31 Oct 14 and got my first egg on Feb 15th 2015. Only one hen is laying, but that's only 3 1/2 months from hatch to egg. Isn't that early? I thought they started laying at 5 months. Again only one is laying, getting 6 eggs per week. About a 25-27 hr cycle, takes a day off. My other 3 hens haven't produced anything yet.

I would size the eggs as small, except for 1 that was large. Do I have an early egg layer?

15 1/2 weeks is early, but not unheard of. My first egg was from a 16 week Cuckoo Marans.

6/7 today... Wow... Wouldn't be surprised if one was trying to go broody though... I found one trying to hide her egg under the old truck bed linner I put out there to give them a eagle/hawk hide... She hissed and barked at me when I moved her.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens Kendrain! Everyone, meet Kendrain, she is driving 60 miles to buy roughly half my hens tomorrow! I found a good buyer, and chicken owner!!! Thank you! e e e Soon you will be drowning in eggs instead of me! I'll bet you are going to be able to get them sold at your business maybe? I hope you stay on BYC's it's a great forum, and I'll get to read how my girls are doing! P.S. I'm boiling 8 more dozen eggs to feed back to the chickens, and my husband actually is selling 8 dozen to some friends today!!! My fridge is empty of eggs (for a second), but I can here the girls outside Ba bawking away and laying more eggs as I type type this! 8 dozen eggs boiling!
