6/5 I just found 6 eggs in the nest box today. I have 5 chickens, so I must have missed one of the eggs yesterday. I have a Barred Rock, Black Australorp, Buff Orpington, and 2 Easter Eggers. They are the best chickens and average at least 3 eggs or more a day.

4 today. Dealt with a flooding basement all last night & today. Then had the insurance company tell me it's not covered. Ughh!

I get about 5 eggs a day from 7 girls.  I am so excited, my Ameracaunas waited almost 8 months to start giving me eggs!/img/smilies/smile.png

Mine are 8 months (35 weeks) & I have one brahma who has finally laid an egg everyday this last week. Sure hope the others take notice! (4 BO 2 Brahma 2 polish) Also 4 ducks same age, one duck started laying this last week as well! (2 fawn/white runners 2 khaki campbell & 1 kc drake)
Sure has been a long wait! I'm excited about 2 eggs!

6/9 today ...... 5/9 yesterday, 4/9 the day before ...... down from 6-8/day at the beginning of December ...... I have 9 month old BOrps ......

Tonite I added a 16' LED light rope and left it on 1/2 hour after dark ...... I'll get them up 1/2 hour early tomorrow AM ...sort of ease them into 14 hours of light/day ....... that's my plan.

Monday

Temp 40F degrees most of the day and it was so cold last night due to the snow in the mountains that my water pipes for the house were frozen till noon and the out side water hoses did not defrost till late in the after noon

funny thing the geese and the ducks were very happy with the temps after getting some corn in their belly's this morning ...
