How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

You can see them now in my picture to the left. They were bred for the northern area and are prolific egg layers. They are about 18 months old and looking to increase by two in the spring......shhh, don't tell anyone.

7 eggs today.
@gander007 flood clean up is going well. The real trick is finding out how to fix the problem so it doesn't happen again. We live on a hill, the water was coming from the over saturated ground!
The small city/town that I work in is under a "boil only" order. The water plant went under water. I am a teacher & the school I teach in is located in this town, as well as 3 elementary schools.
The students return to school tomorrow. The school district brought in cases of water for the students to drink since they can't use the drinking fountains. They are planning to modify lunch menus to lessen the amount of water needed to prepare the meals.
Some of the local fast food restaurants have had to shut down temporarily due to low water pressure (toilets not able to flush). The National Guard has been trucking in water for the town.
Most of the roads are now open. A lot of people had it way worse than me! I saw houses almost completely under water! A co-worker has a rental property that had 14 inches of water in the basement. My basement is now dry. We'll have to replace the carpet & probably some of the wood framing. The bathroom & the 2 bedrooms either have linoleum flooring or concrete floors, so there wasn't much damage there.
We aren't sure how long the boil order will last.
