Temp was 62F degrees today

3/8 but I know that there are some older chickens in the bunch we got from the old owners of the farm they have till spring to lay or they go in the pot. As to the chickens pecking the eggs I hung cabbage in the coup so they had to jump to reach it and I also put the happy chickens ceramic eggs In The nesting boxes they will only peck those once.

Mine have been all over the place with the crazy weather. 3 one day, 6 the next, 4 one day, 7 the next. We were hit with an ice/snow "storm" and cold weather. The ice is starting to melt, but it's nicely compacted so it's taking a while to melt. I have 2 in a sort of molt. Poor Ghost has some spots that are just the plugs so you can see her skin, thankfully it looks good. Oreo seems to do a really good job of helping keep the girls warm at night. <3 So right now 7 of the 9 who are now laying are laying sporadically, the 2 that are in their molt aren't laying at all.

I have nothing from my four ladies for the last 4 days. I am thinking since the cold snap we had a week ago, they are rebooting their systems. (Hoping that is)

We will see today again if they all slacker instead of one or two.

11/14 so far today. I usually have a couple of late layers so we shall see.

I am at 8 of 16 right now and it is 12:30 noon here in the NW may have a few layers yet but doubtful probably still recovering from all the changes

update surprise awaited 1:30 I went out and here was a another nice egg laying in the chicken yard.
