update was a bit concerned I had a egg bound hen she was in the nest seem to be panting I stuck around watching went as far as checking her stomach but felt nothing. she went back to the nest sat in my barn 5 minutes looked again nice sized egg waiting so now 9/14
Well as the day here ends I went to clos the door into the run, Like many of us I did the coop on a shoestring budget and the indoor door I bought came apart in my hands. My other half quickly went to garage brought out a door we had from updates here at the house and it fit! putting it in changing the knob from one to the other reattaching the hooks and eyes

I am just wondering how you get such large numbers of eggs from your chickens! The largest number mine have laid in one day was 14/20!

16 out of a possible 25 but as far as I know 5 have never layed(4 are too young and 1 is a possible hermaphrodite silkie or she's just late to the party) lol which puts me at 16 out of 20 which I think is a great day for this time of year and the temperature drop we had in the last 24 hours. It is also our best day yet to date!
