Temp 96F degrees with a light breeze all day and into the evening

One of my hens that is sitting on a nest for the first time is missing a hole lot of feathers on her back and some very light scratches were discovered on her back upon closer invitation

Oh my, can you move her & her nest somewhere safer?

Wahoo got a new layer! Buff Orpington just laid today
So far we've got 9 eggs.

I've given up Amy of these girls giving me eggs when I want one. I should have a dozen solid a day.... instead..... I'm lucky to get 1 from that new layer a week.

I've got 9 laying hens (molting I guess) and over 30 pullets that are clearly at point of lay. And I'm having to BUY eggs from the store

Come on birds. Your freeloading days are OVER!!! Put out or be put up.... in the freezer.

I collected 7 eggs, put the egg carton on the counter and went back outside to do something. When I came back in the egg carton was on the floor and all of the eggs were broken! Darn dog, it had to be here because both cats were outside with me. I gathered up the egg carton and eggs and tossed the eggs out to the chickens. I think the dog managed to eat 1 before I came inside.
