How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I was out for 3 days camping with the in laws. Left mid morning Saturday with no eggs, cane back about noon today to 12 eggs in the boxes. And have gotten 3 more eggs since we've been back with one more hen in the box.

Worst day this year since the newbies started laying.

5 of 13. Two BR are in various stage of sorta molting, while the leghorn refuses to quit laying. Of course it's really 5/12 because a spring Delaware is still well behind....

Think my girls are stressed from being evacuated to the garage during Hurricane Matthew. We had over 15" of rain where we are and so many issues.
Girls are safe, but not in a laying mood. Poor babies

1 egg today, as usual. My WLH Cotton lays almost daily. 2 are older and haven't laid in years, 1 is also older but lays occasionally and another 2 usually lay but almost everyone is molting. And of course the youngsters who I'm waiting on eggs from as well as a broody mama hen. So 1 out of 12,(didn't include roosters or chicks).

Poor babies. We only got a windy day with the first below 90s high of the season. Be safe.

How do you stop the chooks from stealing and eating their eggs

Fake eggs may discourage them (golf balls work, something they can peck but not break), removing eggs as quickly as possible, making sure nesting boxes aren't at eye level when they come in the coop (at least 12 inch off the ground but under the roosting bars), or putting up curtains to add privacy and hide any waiting eggs.
