How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

9/11.
Beautiful warm day, in the 70's. Me and hubby worked on an attached big run for the girls today. Tomorrow we add the top. All in the meanwhile a falcon and 3 hawks are circling our yard! Those beasts litterally live across the road from me, along with an owl, in a very small patch of woods! So no more free ranging

They will get a bit of supervised free time daily though. We plan on doing lots of raised bed gardens, so its good those heavy equiptment diggers are contained. They destroyed my winter beds in 5 minutes, metal fencing didnt deter them a bit!!! Predator protection and garden maintenance! Lol

okay just went out to collect 5:40 pm here Blue about to collect the ladies in for night
have 14 of 20 one jumbo one Oh My 3 1/4 inches long

it was laying next to our jumbo size in the first photo

10 eggs today, but now I'm down 1 hen.

Decided to let them free range since it was almost 70 degrees outside. Thought I would be home earlier, but they ended up moving my Dad to the nursing home today. That turned out to be a longer process than I thought it would be. Didn't get home until well after dark. Hubby hadn't thought about locking them up. So, now I have 1 less Black Penedesenca hen. I can tell if it was the older one or the younger one. Very frustrating as I am trying to work with this breed, but now I am down to 1 rooster & 1 hen. Had 3 hens.

The crows were put in force .

I lost two hens due to the wild cat's that have to feed their young I guess so I was very disappointed in the performance of the new .22 ammo on the market so I used my fathers old 6.5 Jap WWII bring back this morning and it really impressed me with soft point bullet really dropped the creature right now as I just do not like seeing the target running for 20 feet before dropping, these wild cats are only hungry but they will come back night after night but there is no reason to cripple or inflict great pain on them .

Temp mid 70's and it is getting down to the mid 60's at night .
