The crows were put in force .





I lost two hens due to the wild cat's that have to feed their young I guess so I was very disappointed in the performance of the new .22 ammo on the market so I used my fathers old 6.5 Jap WWII bring back this morning and it really impressed me with soft point bullet really dropped the creature right now as I just do not like seeing the target running for 20 feet before dropping, these wild cats are only hungry but they will come back night after night but there is no reason to cripple or inflict great pain on them .




Temp mid 70's and it is getting down to the mid 60's at night .

Hey pretty keen sight there good for you I use to hang woodpecker bodies to ward off others

The crows got a couple of the eggs

Temp it is almost 2am and it is still 68F degrees on the front porch

Friday - 20 eggs
Saturday - 24 eggs
Sunday - 22 eggs (8 eggs fed back; they were on the floor, 4 were from under broody hens)

I have 3 broody hens. Again. 3 Silkies.

And they're hogging the nests.

I'm hoping that I've convinced the 4th broody to stop since I took the eggs and her out of the nest. She's a sweetie Old English Game Bantam.
